Zeenews Sports Bureau
New Delhi: Former Indian wicket-keeper Syed Kirmani objected to the comment made by Sunil Gavaskar where the latter said that age was taking its toll over Sachin Tendulkar’s footwork.
Reacting to Tendulkar’s dismissal where he was bowled by Doug Bracewell for 17 on Day 2 of the second Test between India and New Zealand, Gavaskar said that the dismissal was a result of poor footwork from the Master Blaster. Gavaskar along with Sanjay Manjarekar were clearly unhappy with the way Sachin was dismissed after struggling for 50 balls. Tendulkar who looked shaky throughout his innings on Day 2 finally perished to an inswinger from Bracewell which rattled the stumps. Even in the first Test, Tendulkar couldn’t do much with the bat when he was bowled by Trent Boult for 19.
